Our client is seeking an Operations Supervisor with extensive experience in the transportation industry.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensuring that departments meet or exceed performance requirements in the areas of safety, shortage, cost control, quality, processing standards, flexibility, reliability, customer service and execution to plan. US Customs compliance/statements/C-TPAT/Harmonized Tariff Schedules and best operational practices.
  • Provide domestic & international air charter and domestic & international warehousing services including providing import and export FCL, LCL, project cargo, and break-bulk cargo.
  • Has not only moved freight via truckload but also with shipping containers and knows the logistics behind this
  • Ensure goods are transported in the timeliest and efficient manner according to documented processes, including planning the transportation route and payload, tracking the shipment from pick up through delivery.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may arise in domestic/international freight and ocean transportation (including FOB cost).
  • Monitor and forecast freight capacity needs on a daily basis and coordinates
    with vendors.
  • Give direction on the staffing needs (driver force) based on weekly production numbers.
  • Work with sales force and pricing group to place bids and obtain potential business.
  • Develop a good and solid relationship with internal and external customers.
    Works with existing customers on service proposals, rate quotations, new destinations, and air/ocean transportation schedules.
  • Supervise, schedule and develop on-site personnel engaged in spotting trailers and running transfer loads. Meet target load volumes with the customer
  • Write and conduct performance appraisals for staff.
  • Work with staff to ensure all driver reviews, safety briefings and driver physicals are handled in a timely manner.
  • Documenting issues i.e.; handing out the disciplinary action and or writing up incident reports.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years working in the transportation industry
  • Familiar with TSA, DOT, FMC, US Customs & CTPAT    
  • Experience with Import/Export/Harmonized Tariff Schedule    
  • 5 years experience with  Container, LTL, FTL, & OTR shipping.       
  • Worked in Full-Service Logistics                
  • Worked with Dispatch & Route Scheduling                
  • Worked in Domestic/International Warehousing Services  
  • Day and Night shift available
